This policy explains what information Thepetbench collects when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We do not require accounts and we do not ask for personal information to read our content. We collect:
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical request data — IP address, browser type, pages requested — to serve pages, prevent abuse, and maintain security. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.
- Email address (optional). If you subscribe to our newsletter or use the contact form, we store the email address you provide, solely to respond or to send the newsletter you requested.
Cookies and tracking
We do not run third-party advertising trackers. Our pages may set minimal functional data (for example, to remember a dismissed banner). Outbound retailer links (see below) take you to third-party sites with their own privacy practices.
Affiliate links
Articles contain affiliate links to retailers such as Amazon. If you click one, the retailer may set cookies on its own domain to attribute a purchase. That happens on the retailer's site under the retailer's privacy policy — we receive aggregate commission reports, never your personal purchase details.
How we use information
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To send the newsletter you subscribed to (every email includes an unsubscribe link).
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share data only with the service providers that operate this site (hosting, email delivery), and only as needed to provide those services.
Data retention and your choices
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact-form messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request. To ask what we hold about you or to request deletion, use the contact page — we respond within 5 business days.
Children
This site is general-audience content about pet care and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change, and note material changes here. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
