The Petmate Sky Kennel 21-inch interior is 18.75 inches long. The Ultra Vari Kennel 28-inch interior is 24.25 inches long. That is a 5.5-inch floor gap on two pages from the same maker.
The Sky Kennel 21-inch empty weight is 6.27 pounds. The Vari 28-inch is 12.33 pounds. Petmate says only those two sizes include a handle.
MidWest Homes for Pets lists a divider on the iCrate and the LifeStages crate. Petmate’s plastic shells do not. If you pick plastic, buy tonight’s size, not the adult flight shell.
The Sky Kennel page cites the 51st edition, dated 2025, of the IATA Live Animals Regulation. That is a travel claim. Use the listed interior, not the airline sticker.

AAHA says housetraining can take several months before a puppy holds through the night. A wet crate on night one is a timing miss, not a character flaw. Clean the pan, reset the divider, and do not scold.
Cornell says barking, pacing, panting, soiling, or drooling means stop the lock-in. Use a bedroom pen or a tether instead. Humane World lists that tether as a night option.

Use a food whose label carries an Association of American Feed Control Officials growth statement, or an all-life-stages statement. AAFCO lists growth as its own life stage. Treats are exempt if the pack says snack or treat.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration requires interstate pet food to list ingredients from most to least by weight. FDA also requires a net quantity and the maker or distributor name.

Water stays down until the last potty trip. Then lift the bowl. A full dish at midnight is a 2 a.m. walk.
Humane World says to put a comfortable bed in the crate if the puppy will not shred it. On night one, many families use a flat pad or towels.
A closed crate also keeps a loose puppy off overnight shoes. That is management, not a chew-training session.
